SAADETTIN ERGEC, IRAQI TURKMEN FRONT LEADER ESCAPES UNHURT IN ARMED ATTACK

The convoy of vehicles carrying Iraq Turkmen Front Leader Sadettin Ergeç and his entourage were attacked on the Baghdad-Kerkuk highway on Sunday.

While Ergeç and his entourage were unharmed by the incident, some of the vehicles in the convoy were damaged.

This attack was repelled by the Leader's armored vehicle and bodyguards. There was only material damage.
Turkish Foreign Affairs Minister wished ITF Leader Ergeç a speedy recovery


Minister for Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gül called Iraq Turkmen Front (ITF) Leader Sadettin Ergeç who managed to remain unharmed in an assassination attack carried out in Iraq today to wish him a speedy recovery.
In the telephone conversation Minister Abdullah Gül had with Mr.Ergeç, Mr. Gül said that they were closely following the developments in Iraq and that he thought that peace in Iraq could only be secured with the territorial unity of Iraq.
In addition Gül stated that the Republic of Turkey would stand behind the rights of Iraq Turkmen brothers.
